LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - Two men recently arrested in Tuscaloosa are now facing more charges in Lauderdale County.
Rasheem Powell and Rodarrius Yates were charged with multiple robberies in Alabama. Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says working with the Tuscaloosa Police Department, They were able to connect the two suspects to an armed robbery at the Toomsuba Dollar General earlier this month. They're both charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Calhoun says there were two employees working that night, and the suspects held a customer there at the store. Those who saw it happen gave police the clue they needed to connect this crime to many other armed robberies across Alabama.
"Our eyewitnesses had placed the white vehicle we were looking for with an Alabama tag. The investigators started putting two and two together and asked for the Tuscaloosa authorities help and tried to determine who they'd been talking to and where the location of the individuals might be at the time."
Investigators are still searching for a third man: Quin'darius Jackson - also known as "Q." Calhoun says Jackson is currently out on a felony bond from Lauderdale County for possession of cocaine and a house burglary from this past June.
Calhoun says these three suspects could be involved in at least one other armed robbery in the Toomsuba area.
