Russell Christian Looking to Three-Peat

MERIDIAN, Miss. Russell Christian Academy is looking to win their third straight Alabama Christian Education Association eight-man state championship.

Andy Braddock is entering his second season as head coach. Last season, he led the Warriors to an undefeated season and a dominate 52-14 victory over Tabernacle Christian in the state championship.

The previous season, before Braddock was head coach, the Warriors won their first state championship since making the move to eight-man. This season, they are hoping to achieve a three-peat and bring another state title back home to Meridian.

Braddock shared how the team has been working hard since the end of last season to make such achievement possible.

"Our season's not just fixin to start, it actually started in November when we got back from the state championship, Braddock said. "They [the team] will tell you the workouts have been pretty grueling all summer but they've accepted it and they know that's what it's gonna take to make us better and have a winning season."

The Warriors are riding a 23 game win streak. They are hoping to add to that streak when they hit the road and play Tuscaloosa Christian on August 17th.
